Silver Dipped

Hey!

Today I have on my "silver dipped" nails. I love the way the silver tips are much more subtle than something I would usually wear. This blue color is one of my top ten favorite colors of all time, I think it is ranked at number two in my nail polish hoard ( Number one would be O.P.I.'s Suzi Sells Sushi by the Sea Shore which I have blogged about before ). For this look I used O.P.I. I Vant to be a Lone Star ( blue) and a popular one, Revlon Top Speed in Metallic ( silver ). Here are my current nails:

How To Get This Look:
1. Prep with a base coat.
2. Paint two or three coats of blue.
3. Take a old, cheap lip-gloss brush and pour nail polish remover on it then let dry.
4. Dip the now clean lip-gloss brush in the silver and draw on a silver stripe where the white part of your nail would be.
5. Finish with top coat.
Voila! Your silver dipped nails are done!

I love anything that re-invents the classic french manicure and this look is definitely going in my book as one of my favorite french tip manicures!

Starry Nails

Hi guys,

Today I am going to show you how to make "starry nails". It is quite easy but I used a Konad nail stamper and nail plates for the tips some of you may not have that but that is okay! You can still do this just with a solid french tip in the blue color. The plate I used was not actually Konad brand but Monster brand I got from Amazon ( It was a great deal something like 20 plates for twenty dollars! ) it's number is BM10. The colors I used were Revlon Top Speed in Metallic ( silver ) and on the the tips I mixed three colors: Nicole by O.P.I in Virtuous Violet and Sally Hansen extreme wear in Blue It and Black Out. Here is a picture:

How To Get This Look:

1. Prep with a base coat!
2. Paint entire nail sliver.
3. On a turned over nail plate mix the purple, blue and black the ratios should be 5:2:1
4. Use the stamper with nail plate according to how your brand tells you to.
5. Finish with top coat.
Voila! Your starry nails are done!

When most people hear the words "starry nails" they then think it is about nails with literal stars on them. This look is just so shiny and pretty it's hard not to love it!

Double Time Nails

Hey guys!

This week I am sporting a gunmetal grey and light pink manicure. I used Sally Hansen hard as nails extreme wear in gunmetal (grey) and OPI Nail Lacquer in Suzi sells sushi by the sea shore (pink). Here is a  picture:

How to get this look:
1. Paint nails fully grey *Important* MUST be fully dry ( I suggest fully painting your nails grey a day or two before you add the pink )
2. Place tape diagonally on your nail covering the part you want to be grey. Make sure that the tape is going on with the straight side on your nail.
3. Press the tape down on your nail so it is secured and there are no bubbles or bumps. If you peel it back slowly and your grey coat is dry you don't need to worry about the polish coming off.
4. Paint 2-3 coats of the pink.
5. Peel off the tape slowly, you can do this while the pink is wet just don't wiggle the tape.
6. Finish with top coat!
Your beautiful nails are ready!

I love this look and have gotten tons of compliments because it is so cool looking yet so easy. This can also be done with any colors, contrasting colors and complimentary colors look best but experiment!

First Post!

Hi,
This is my first post on this blog. I'm so excited to finally have something to do with my life besides painting my nails ( just kidding...not ). I have looked through tons of nail blogs yet haven't found one with out all these:
A. Freaky long cat-lady nail (no offense)
B. Super hard instructions/ designs
C.  Horrible teen writing.

So I gathered my computer and decided to start something I could share with the world. My passion is painting my nails with cool and funky patterns and colors. I will try to upload a picture, description and how-to at least once a week. Hopefully someone out there will find this blog and world will catch on, but until then I am just happy having fun.

Write you soon!
